Results, 2017/18 season
The first influenza season of the DRIVE project was considered a pilot. The establishment of the DRIVE research platform is described in a full report and two summaries, available below.
DRIVE (Development of Robust and Innovative Vaccine Effectiveness) is a public-private partnership that investigates brand-specific effectiveness of seasonal influenza vaccines in order to comply with the updated European regulatory requirements and for the benefit of public health professionals.
DRIVE’s main objective in the 2017/18 season was to establish and test the new platform using a limited number of sites. Due to the constraints of the pilot study, the vaccine brands and types have been anonymized and the results should not be used to inform medical or regulatory decision-making.
